Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 200 degrees Celsius
  • ⁠Using your hands tear the tofu into bite sized chunks and add to a bowl
  • Add the cornstarch, 5 spice and oil and mix well
  • Lay out the tofu in a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes or until golden and crispy
  • Meanwhile mix your tofu sauce by combining the Gochujang paste, maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic and rice wine vinegar in a small dish
  • Add the sauce to a pan on medium/low heat and mix frequently until gently bubbling
  • Remove your tofu from the oven and add to the pan with the sauce and mix well, you may need to add little splashes of water to deglaze the sauce if it starts to dry out
  • Serve with rice, avocado, sesame seeds and sliced green onions
